DACKS Successfully Holds the Naming Ceremony for M.V. “OOCL GDYNIA” 

A spectacular naming ceremony for one more 24,188 TEU container ship was successfully carried out in DACKS on October 11, 2023. This is the third one following the delivery of M.V.” OOCL Piraeus “and M.V.” OOCL “Felixstowe” in May and August respectively, and also the sixth one as the world’s largest scale container ship, self-developed and co-constructed by NACKS and DACKS of CHI.

Mr. Takashi Yanai, General Manager of Logistics Infrastructure Business Div. of Sumitomo Corporation, Mr. Teddy Fung, Director of Trades of OOCL, Mr. Yu Jianzhong, Chief Accountant of CHI, and other distinguished guests attended the ceremony. Mrs. Yoshiko Yanai, as the sponsor, carried out the naming and cord cutting for the new vessel.

This vessel is the "intelligent plus shipping R&D application" practiced by CHI in response to the COSCO Shipping Group, promoting "intelligent shipping and intelligent manufacturing at the forefront of the industry", and crafted as another star product. The vessel integrates the latest scientific and technological achievements, safe and reliable, energy saving and environmental protection, high degree of intelligence, fully embodies the design ability and construction level of DACKS.
