Chasing the Light Towards a Greener Path

On September 11th, the second phase of the photovoltaic (PV) project with an installed capacity of 4 megawatts by DACKS was connected to the grid for power generation, marking a new step in the company’s efforts in clean energy development and carbon emission reduction.

The second phase of the PV project fully explores the potential of the company’s unused spaces, such as parking lots and rooftops, increasing the company’s green electricity usage ratio by 5%. It generates an additional 4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, saves more than 700,000 yuan in electricity costs annually, and reduces carbon emissions by 3,100 tons. DACKS continues to pursue green and innovative practices, achieving dual improvements in environmental protection and economic benefits, and leading the way in green, low-carbon development.

In the 16 years since its establishment, DACKS has been committed to building an international first-class shipyard, integrating green development concepts throughout the project construction and production operations, and consistently adhering to green and low-carbon development. At the beginning of the shipyard’s construction, the layout was adjusted to accommodate migratory birds, and funds are invested annually for the construction of the Laotieshan Nature Reserve. Since the 12-megawatt first phase of the PV project was connected to the grid in May 2020, it has generated a total of 43.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, saved more than 4.7 million yuan in electricity costs, and reduced carbon emissions by 33,000 tons, showing significant energy-saving and emission reduction effects.
